Our team completed 3 scopes on this mixed-use development project. The curb-to-curb site conditions in Uptown Charlotte were a challenge. We worked with our client and the owner to obtain permanent easements for an adjacent property and encroachment permits for an adjacent roadway.
The Geostructural Solutions group designed and installed a temporary earth retention system. The permanent easements and encroachment permits allowed soil nailing to be a viable solution. Approximately 500 linear feet of wall was installed. Additionally, we coordinated with the electrical and mechanical contractors to permit conduit to be used within the extents of the soil nail wall.
The Civil & Infrastructure team excavated and exported 20,000 cubic yards of brown field material in 5 days in the middle of a bustling Uptown Charlotte. Included in the scope was excavation, backfill, underground utilities, sidewalk, curb & gutter, and roadway improvements.
Concrete group placed 70,000+ SF footprint of shored decks for 4 levels and approximately 15k SF footprint for the next 5 levels.
Our client was able to utilize our services for 3 consecutive scopes of work which minimized their coordination efforts.
