Facilities Maintenance Technician

The Facilities Technician must work safely and productively on various sized project sites and at other company facilities. A successful candidate in this role must be highly motivated and willing to complete any task assigned, along with performing the essential duties of the Facilities Technician position. All employees are expected to communicate, build relationships with other team members and use good judgment at all times. The Facilities Technician is expected to have the ability to perform all duties of the positions preceding it in its specific career path, while being responsible and accountable to complete any other tasks assigned.

Training & Certifications


  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Drivers License (Class C)


  • First Aid / CPR
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • WBI Aerial Lift Certification
  • WBI Rough Terrain Forklift Certification
  • AAS Diploma (Facilities Maintenance)
  • WBI Confined Space Competent Person Certification
  • WBI Industrial Forklift Certification
  • Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT)
  • WBI Scissor Lift Certification



  • Basic level communication (Reading, writing & comprehending technical documents, safety regulations, responding to questions from managers / coworkers, checklists, etc.)
  • Safety awareness (Ability to recognize and correct safety hazards)
  • Detail Orientation (Ability to pay attention to details in order to follow instructions and execute work in accordance to specifications and safety / quality standards)
  • Interpreting service / operators manuals
  • Working independently with minimal supervision
  • Intermediate level mathematics (2D / 3D geometry, percentages, ratios, basic trigonometry)
  • Intermediate level reasoning (Ability to comprehend and carry out verbal or written instructions while understanding how to problem solve and complete task(s) when dealing with up to three variables)
  • Basic level planning / organizing (Ability to plan / schedule work two weeks in advance and communicate the objectives with coworkers while organizing tasks by priority to meet deadlines and handling multiple task simultaneously)
  • Computer typing at a rate of 20 WPM


  • Intermediate level communication (Reading, writing, analyzing & presenting procedural manuals, business correspondence, reports, internal / customer presentations, etc.)


  • Load and unload equipment / material
  • Pickup / Deliver parts for service center
  • Wash vechicles and equipment when not assigned to other duties
  • Assist as needed in service center when not assigned to other duties
  • Verify equipment / material loaded for transport matches the work order items
  • Perform routine facility custodian duties
  • Perform general lawn maintenance including mowing grass, applying herbicides / fungicides / insecticides, trimming trees / shrubs, blowing leaves / debris and picking up trash
  • Operate and maintain irrigation systems
  • Perform general facility maintenance including changing light bulbs / air filters, minor plumbing repairs and minor carpentry work
  • Perform water quality / management including checking chlorine levels, maintaining chlorinator, purging water lines and reading water meters
