Superintendent (Concrete)

The Superintendent must work safely and productively on various sized Concrete Construction project sites. A successful candidate in this role must be highly motivated and willing to complete any task assigned, along with performing the essential duties of the Superintendent position. All employees are expected to communicate, build relationships with other team members and use good judgment at all times. The Superintendent is expected to have the ability to perform all duties of the positions preceding it in its specific career path, while being responsible and accountable to complete any other tasks assigned.

  • Safety awareness (Ability to recognize and correct safety hazards)
  • Detail Orientation (Ability to pay attention to details in order to follow instructions and execute work in accordance to specifications and safety / quality standards)
  • Analyzing & interpreting construction documents & other technical documents
  • Knowledge of soil conditions & earthmoving
  • Measuring & calculating areas & volumes precisely
  • Intermediate level planning / organizing (Ability to plan / schedule work one month in advance and communicate and delegate work tasks to the team while handling multiple projects simultaneously)
  • Intermediate level communication (Reading, writing, analyzing & presenting procedural manuals, business correspondence, reports, internal / customer presentations, etc.)
  • Master level reasoning (Ability to breakdown processes into tasks, delegate to others, solve problems as they arise and identify solutions that will prevent problems before they happen)


  • Plan all related turnkey concrete work activities on assigned project in cooperation with project manager and project engineer
  • Request necessary personnel resources and report available resources in order to maintain the appropriate crew balances and achieve optimal production
  • Collaborate with client's site superintendent to coordinate work activities and ensure that WBI can perform its contractural work safely and productively
  • Train field personnel in accordance with WBI training program and best practices in order to improve safety, quality and productivity
  • Evaluate and coach field personnel in an effort to promote their personal development
  • Adminster the completion of all required daily reports and project documents
  • Account for all material and equipment delivery receipts and submit to accounting department
  • Administer disciplinary action program when required for any field personnel
