WBI was awarded a project by D.R. Reynolds Inc for Weyerhaeuser in Plymouth, NC earlier this year. Our scope included sitework, utilities, paving, demolition of an existing Kiln and two new Continuous Dry Kilns that were approximately 2,760 CY. The sequence of the work was to construct one new kiln and all of the associated foundations and pits for both kilns while the existing one was still in use. Once the first new kiln was in operation we began work on the second kiln. The two new Continuous Dry Kilns will each be able to replace three of the existing steam fueled kilns. They will be fueled by burning the green sawdust produced by the lumber mill and transported by a new blowline between the two facilities. Ryan Shaw and his crew did a great job, and our scope was completed in September 2011.
